History of Dharma Yoga:

Sri Dharma Mittra was the student of famous master Yogi Gupta aka Sri Swami Kailashananda during the early 1960s. He mastered several yoga postures, around 908 asanas during his intense study period of several years. He is one of the master yogi and founder of the Dharma Yoga Center in New-York. Sri Dharma believes in teaching Dharma yoga with great enthusiasm for the students using the best practices.  The ultimate goal practiced by Sri Dharma while teaching Dharma yoga to his students is self-realization knowing one’s true self which can be simply seen in Dharma yoga practice.

What is it?

Dharma yoga- also termed as Dharma Mittra Yoga is the most inspiring and elegant form of yoga training. This yoga poses works well for all students whether they are on beginner level to high-level experts. Once the students start approaching higher levels, they start experiencing deep stages of meditation.

Origins:

It is based on all 8 forms of yoga which include:

  • Karma, Bhakti, Jnana, Japa, Hatha, Raja, Kriya, and Laya.

SRI DHARMA MITTRA- MASTER OF DHARMA YOGA

Sri Dharma Mittra mastered several yoga postures, around 908 asanas during his intense study period of several years. He dedicated his life teaching yoga poses and ancient knowledge to others in order to develop spiritually and gain radiant health. He has been teaching yoga postures since 1967 in order to attain content, happy and simple life. Sri Dharma- the master of Dharma yoga, was born in 1939 in a village of Pirapora, Brazil. Adult, after reaching New York, Sri Dharma had a consultation with Sri Swami Kailashananda- his yogi guru. He joined the intense yoga practice and learned all eight limbs of yoga.

9 years

Sri Dharma Mittra spent nine years of his life in order to practice full-time karma yoga. After three years, Sri Dharma became the personal assistant to his master guru and initiated as Sannyasi- one who realizes God.

During 1967, Sri Dharma started teaching intermediate and advanced Asana levels to the students at Yogi Gupta New York Centre. In 1974, Sri Dharma left the Ashram with the blessings of his guru and opened a yoga center known as Dharma Yoga New York Center.

Sri Dharma believe in dedicating life to spread and share the truth. He believe in sharing knowledge of God with the help of yoga in quite humble ways.
